SHARED DECISION-MAKING COMMITTEE (SDMC)

Program Description

At Challenge Early College High School, we believe that strong schools are built through collaboration and shared responsibility. Our Shared Decision-Making Committee (SDMC) is an advisory team that brings together teachers, staff, parents, community members, and campus leadership to provide input and help guide important decisions that support our students and school community. Throughout the school year, the SDMC reviews and discusses campus priorities such as student achievement, school improvement goals, programs and initiatives, family and community engagement, campus needs, and opportunities to strengthen the overall student experience. We are excited to welcome our newly elected classroom teacher representatives, Mr. Leventhal and Mr. Arjon, who were selected by their fellow teachers to serve on the committee for the next two years. We sincerely appreciate all of our SDMC members for volunteering their time, sharing their perspectives, and working together on behalf of our students. Their willingness to listen, collaborate, and contribute ideas is an important part of helping Challenge ECHS continue to grow and provide the best possible opportunities for every student.

The Challenge Early College High School Shared Decision-Making Committee (SDMC) will meet at least four times during the school year, generally once each quarter, with additional meetings scheduled if campus needs require further discussion. This aligns with HISD campus practice for SDMCs.
